Ulsan Hyundai vs Tigres | Hong Myung-bo & Jo Hyeon-woo | FIFA Club World Cup Press Conference

AFC Champions League winners Ulsan Hyundai begin their 2020 FIFA Club World Cup campaign against CONCACAF Champions League holders Tigres UANL at the Al Rayyan Stadium in Doha, Qatar on Thursday. The victor of the second round match will face Copa Libertadores champions Palmeiras at the Education City Stadium in the semi-finals on Sunday. Ulsan have not been in action since the conclusion of the AFC Champions League in December. The South Korean side were outstanding throughout that competition, and won all nine of their matches having conceded just six goals. Ulsan last featured in the Club World Cup in 2012, and lost their opening fixture to Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima by a 3-2 scoreline.

“We have sufficiently learned about Tigres UANL. The team is [currently playing] its season, so we could analyze even the latest matches played by the team. It is a very strong team with outstanding capabilities of individual players. We could feel that their players are top athletes in terms of their abilities. We are not sure how much we could defend from their offense, but we have prepared quite well. I am aware that some of Tigres’ players have returned from injury that the team has formed a better squad. Still, we will do our best in tomorrow’s match.”
